Caitlyn Jenner also made the Sports’ Most Talked About Moments of 2015 after making her first public appearance as a transgendered woman at the 2015 Espy’s. Despite disproval of sports fans, ESPN honored Jenner with the 2015 Arthur Ashe Courage Award. During her acceptance speech, Jenner discussed the need for equality and acceptance of those who don’t fit society’s norm. According to Google, her speech was one of the highlights of 2015. 6. ESPN Anchor Stuart Scott Loses Battle with Cancer
After a 7 year battle against appendiceal cancer, ESPN’s beloved anchor Stuart Scott passed away on January 4th at the age of 49. Scott was a staple of sports media during his 22 year career with ESPN and spoke openly about his battle with cancer. In 2014, his cancer had returned for the third time.
