One year after gracing Harper’s Bazaar’s covers, Luna became the first Black model ever to be featured on the cover of any Vogue magazine in March 1966 as the cover girl of British Vogue.
Luna became a superstar overnight being flown around the world to work with famed photographers and diving into the celebrity lifestyle. She counted Sammy Davis, Jr., Miles Davis and Andy Warhol as her closest friends. Luna was also one of two of the only Black models to be a part of Warhol’s studio, Warhol’s East 47th Street Factory.
