Beyoncé had everyone up at 3AM getting our entire life and now we’re trying to figure out how to go back to sleep after this woke ass performance.
Beyoncé had the audacity to turn the whitest function of the year into an HBCU Homecoming. We don’t call her Queen for no reason.

Beyoncé bought the culture of the HBCU to Coachella, from the Black frat probate, to opening Coachella with the Negro National Anthem “Lift Every Voice”, playing excerpts from Malcolm X’s “Who Taught You to Hate Yourself?” speech, and the stepping and marching band?!
And the music?!
Beyonce and her Beyta Delta Kappa band dancers milly rocking to mixes of the reggae classic “You Don’t Love Me” by Dawn Peen, Nina Simone’s “Strange Fruit”, Pastor Troy, OT Genasis’ “Everybody Mad” and Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up”.

Fans also pointed out Beyoncé’s use of Spike Lee’s “School Daze” references, New Orleans bounce music, Houston chopped n’ screwed, D.C. go-go music, and reggae. This performance was the Blackest thing to ever hit television!
How are we supposed to go to sleep and act like #BeyChella didn’t happen?

And if that wasn’t enough to make us go bat sh*t crazy, Beyonce also reunited Destiny’s Child onstage and brought out husband Jay-Z and sister Solange Knowles-Ferguson for a dance duet.
If you missed her epic Coachella performance, which streamed live on YouTube, you’re in luck.

Beyoncé paid homage to Fela Kuti during her coachella perfomance.
Fela Kuti was a Nigerian musician and activist who launched Afro-beat, which then fused American blues, jazz and funk with traditional Yoruba music. #Beychella pic.twitter.com/39z4QD4ymq

If it’s a few things Beyoncé taught us tonight at Coachella it’s: (1) don’t EVER underestimate her, (2) suck my balls, (3) women are powerful & respect them, (4) the black culture is amazing, and (5) apply to a HBCU Monday morning ? #beychella #beyonce #coachella

To all the “why you gotta make it all about race” people. @Beyonce‘s crest is *literally* symbols of Black power & liberation.
A nubian queen
A black panther
A Black Power fist
A black beeAnd on top, a winged sun w/ the eye of Horus in the middle.

Let me remind you that a 36-year-old mother of three just outperformed ANY performer of any age race and gender EVER. sis performed 2 hours straight, had multiple dance breaks, a 20 year old reunion, and still had FLAWLESS VOCALS. Beyoncé won. Talent WON. #beychella pic.twitter.com/ai8oeKPb03
