Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville calls #MeToo on her ex-fling actor Gerard Butler.
The 45 year old reality star wasn’t too pleased after watching Gerard’s interview on Watch What Happens Live. The 48 year old actor, who stars alongside 50 Cent in the new action packed film Den of Thieves, cringed at the mention of Brandi during his interview with Andy Cohen. According to Gerard, he had no idea the svelte blonde Celebrity Apprentice star was famous when he met her. He said the two “had fun” and he never saw her again.
He didn’t even know her last name.
Some time later, the 300 actor was filming a movie when he was chased down by TMZ cameramen and asked about his romp with Brandi. She’d reportedly appeared on WWHL and named dropped Gerard after being asked who’s the most famous person she’d ever slept with. When asked to rate his bedroom skills on a scale of 1-10, she reportedly gave him an 11. She was none too pleased after watching Gerard discuss her on the same show in a less-than-complimentary fashion.
Watch his interview below:
Brandi responded in an open letter, asking when did misogyny become so hip:
“So I’m not exactly sure when misogyny became so hip, cool and accepted but what I will tell you is that I won’t fucking stand for it anymore! I’m talking to you, Gerard Butler! Honestly who the fuck do you think you are? You, Mr. “movie star”, can choke on your own…ego.
Not that I even remember your last hit movie but it seems like 300 was years ago. I would like to make something crystal fucking clear to you, your behavior the other night, publicly acting as if you were embarrassed to have ever met me or had relations with me as if I were some horrid decrepit troll is not only disgusting but unacceptable.
#Timesup on this kind of behavior”, said Brandi.
#MeToo is a movement among victims of sexual assault and harassment who have come forward to publicly call out their attackers.
“Just a little advice for you moving forward Scorpio to Scorpio: Respect the women you invite into your bed and into your life. Whether you know their last name or not! Whether they are famous or not! Just be a proper human being.
Imagine that some man was on tv speaking of your mother, sister, daughter or even friend cringing with embarrassment. Exactly the way you acted and spoke of me. Well my two sons Mason,14 and Jake, 10 don’t have to imagine it because it just happened to them, to me and to all of us.
With the Me Too movement I have found my voice again and I refuse to stay quiet. I may not have been sexually harassed but I have been humiliated, embarrassed, financially tortured and emotionally abused by men in power, in my work life and by men like you in my personal life. Number one, why do you think you are such a damn prize and what the fuck would have changed if you had known my last name??
Many, many years ago I was on a fairly new late night talk show called Watch What Happens Live and I was asked who was the most famous man I had ever slept with. At that time you were kind of a big thing so I said your name. I then was asked on a scale from 1-10 what would I rate you as a lover. I very kindly said an 11. I was completely caught off guard obviously not expecting any of these questions and the moment after I answered them I regretted it.
So the rating of an 11 I gave you as a lover was a knee jerk reaction peace offering for having blurted out your name. I could have actually just told the truth. I NEVER in God’s world imagined I would be on tv let a-fucking-lone be asked these questions. I guess unfortunately for you it was my truth in that moment.
I’m not an actor but I did marry, have two kids and divorce one. I honestly never sought out the life that I live now filled with insecurities, trust issues and doubt. I don’t give two fucks about fame but that’s probably why it randomly found me. The truth is that because of my inability to put up with other people’s bullshit, not think before I speak and fight back hardcore during a very ugly, very public, very devastating and heart crippling divorce, I was catapulted into the whirlwind of reality tv.
If been given the choice I’d rather be fucking happily married to a “faithful” Eddie Cibrian quietly-ish raising our 2 beautiful boys with no cameras other than the ones he worked in front of.
All of this said I was not given a choice. This quote, unquote “career” of mine has allowed me to fend for myself pay my own bills and raise my two beautiful boys and ultimately I’m thankful for it.
You seem to be caught up on the fact that I didn’t tell you my last name or what I did for work before we actually ‘hooked up”. When I’m out at a party and someone walks up to me and says hi what’s your name, like most people I simply say “hi I’m Brandi nice to meet you”. Furthermore if you have to tell someone you’re famous…you’re not only an asshole but you clearly are not that fucking famous!!!
So Gerry are you saying that had you known I was on reality tv that you would not have approached me and asked for my number?? Do you have something against reality TV? Are you too big of a movie star to be associated with lowly reality television personalities? Honestly, what would knowing my last name have changed? Are you a better level of a human being because you do movie work?
For the record I am now embarrassed to have ever known you.
I think you suck and my dad wants to kick your ass.”
Given the fact that Gerard didn’t bash the star during his interview, did Brandi overreact?
