Eminem dropped a new single featuring Beyoncé titled “Walk On Water”, and pours out all of his insecurities on the track.
In his lyrics, the 45 year old rapper mentions his past addiction to Vicodin and overdosing on methadone, as well as his fear of not living up to the legend emcee status given to him in the rap game. Eminem raps about feeling like he’s making hits in the studio, but when he plays the track back in his car, he hears “trash”, while harping about how exhaustive it is to be a role model.
Beyonce echoes his sentiments, singing:
‘Cause I’m only human, just like you,
Making my mistakes, oh if you only knew
I don’t think you should believe in me the way that you do
‘Cause I’m terrified to let you down, oh
If I walked on water, I would drown
