Mathew, on the other hand, was reportedly cut off professionally and financially by Beyoncé, being replaced as her longtime manager.
While most believe, Beyoncé cut off her father for destroying their family with his infidelities, TMZ obtained legal documents in 2011 claiming that Mathew was fired after an audit proved he’d embezzled money from Beyoncé’s tour:
Via TMZ:
According to the docs, Mathew claims Live Nation told Beyonce that Mathew “had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to.”
Mathew claims Live Nation was effective, because Beyonce had her law firm conduct an audit, and the law firm concluded Mathew had indeed pilfered money from her. Beyonce then fired him.
Mathew insists the theft accusations by Live Nation are false, and he wants the judge to give him the right to take depositions of various people at Live Nation, to determine just how they concluded he was a thief.
Beyoncé didn’t respond to Matthew’s claims of being falsely accused of embezzlement, but in March 2011, she released a statement saying she was parting professionally with her father:
“I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life, and I love my dad dearly”, Beyoncé said in a statement released by publicist Yvette Noel-Schure. “I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”
Since then, Mathew’s financial struggles have been well documented.
