Susan Sarandon stopped by the Cannes Film Festival a few days ago to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Thelma & Louise. While there, she talked about how the adult film industry needs more films from a woman’s perspective:
“I have threatened in my eighties to direct porn. I haven’t watched enough to know what the problems are. Most pornography is brutal and doesn’t look pleasurable from a female point of view. So I’ve been saying when I no longer want to act, I want to do that.”
Nowadays, porn is more violent and brutal, says Susan, and focuses more on intercourse than the “before” and “after”:
“A lot of people know what’s in the middle, but what makes a sex act really interesting is how that first touch happens, how that first kiss comes, […] Those moments need to be looked at.”
Would you watch a flick directed by Susan Sarandon??
