Stacey Dash: “There Should Be No BET Channel or Black History Month”, BET Networks CLAPS BACK!!

Actress and proud Republican, Stacey Dash found herself in the center of controversy again after appearing on Fox & Friends this morning to discuss the boycott of this year’s Oscar’s ceremony.

Dash, who’s also a Fox News Contributer, says Black people have award ceremonies that promote “segregation” by only giving awards to Black people, such as the BET Awards and NAACP Image Awards, so they can’t complain about the Oscar’s only recognizing White actors. For that same reason, says Dash, we should also cancel Black History Month. Listen to Dash’s segment BELOW:

Obviously, Stacey Dash has never watched a BET or NAACP Image Awards ceremony.

The BET Awards honors entertainment geared towards Black audiences, and you don’t have to be Black to entertain Black people. Hence why Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, Iggy Azalea, and Sam Smith have all been nominated or received BET awards. The NAACP Image Awards honor those who have helped progressed the image of Black people in entertainment, and you certainly don’t have to be Black to do that. This is why Emma Stone, Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie, and Bryce Dallas Howard have all been nominated for or received NAACP Image awards.

Those award ceremonies, and others like them, were created because award shows like the Oscar’s fell short of recognizing Black entertainers. Out of 88 years of the Academy Awards ceremonies, only 7 Black women have received Oscar’s. Unfortunately, all of their roles were stereotypical and degrading to Black women, including the roles of slaves, maids, and impoverished women.

BET Networks issued shade-laced responses reminding Dash that she was once an employee by BET. See BET Networks’ response on the next page.
