“I didn’t know I cared for her until I tried to play her” – Shad on his relationship with Ciara
Shad Moss sat down with DJ Vlad and discussed his ups and downs with Jermaine Dupri, Ciara, and her custody battle with Future.
Shad says before he and Ciara got together, he would ignore her when she asked to hang out. Once Ciara’s first single came out, her career took off. Shad says now that she was “popping”, he was ready to get serious with her. He also says he was a good boyfriend to Ciara, neglecting his friends to spend time with her, but jokingly cites rapper Nelly introducing him to strippers with fake butts as the reason why his relationship with Ciara ended.
When speaking on Ciara’s current custody battle with ex-fiance, Future, Shad says Ciara should let Future be present in his son’s life and explained how family court is geared in women’s favor:
“Being a father myself, I understand how women can get under your skin and they can play this game, and how the system is designed to work for their favor.
I think a lot of women —not saying Ci whatsoever, because she doesn’t need the money—but, I feel like a lot of people rely on the system. A lot of these women think that they can come up, until they actually go into these courtrooms and it plays out the other way.
I just think it’s an unfortunate situation because they have a beautiful, healthy baby boy that I’m sure that really doesn’t know what’s going on. Within time, hopefully they can come to a medium where everything can be everything.”
