Though her husband was supportive during her initial diagnosis in 2015, even sleeping in a chair in her hospital room with her every night, Ang admitted cancer changed her marriage. She sat down with Dr. Oz and says her husband was no longer supportive at all and was no longer in her life. Her sister Janine Detore stepped up and took her to her doctor’s appointments, and started a GoFundMe page for the star, which earned over $45,000.
Initially, media outlets ran the story that Ang had passed away hours earlier than she actually died on Wednesday night. Spokesperson for the family, Vinnie Medugno posted that the story was false and that Ang was still breathing:
5 hours later, Ang took her last breath at 3:01am. Medugno released the statement via Ang’s social media pages that the star had passed away:
Ang was surrounded by family and friends during her last moments in a Manhattan hospital. Her family has posted pictures of her laying in her hospital bed moments before she died.
