President Obama opted for a less traditional experience for last night’s viewers of his final State of the Union Address (SOTU), the annual report of the nation given by the President. Held inside the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol, President Obama premiered the first ever pre-show of the SOTU Address, hosted by Terrence J of 106 & Park and E! News fame. Wale became the first rapper to perform at the SOTU, along with music group EL VY. The pre-show lasted for an hour before the President took the mic for his final SOTU Address:

In the speech, President Obama took shots at the republican presidential candidates, saying the nation would be left in the money and power hungry hands of republicans operating off of fear and malice. Touching on republican candidate forerunner Donald Trump and his anti-Islamic policy, the President had this to say:
“Each time, there have been those who told us to fear the future; who claimed we could slam the brakes on change, promising to restore past glory if we just got some group or idea that was threatening America under control,” Obama said. “And each time, we overcame those fears.”
President Obama also responded to the criticism of his handling of the nation’s economy and foreign enemies as “political hot air”. You can watch the FULL SOTU Address below:
