Chad Ochocinco Served Child Support Papers At His Son’s Graduation

Former NFL player Chad “Ochocinco” was leaving his 14 year old son, Chad Johnson II’s middle school graduation when the grandmother of his son tried to serve him papers for owing $38k in child support.

Chad refused to take the papers, and his son tried to intervene, asking his grandmother to leave. The grandmother then turned to Chad’s son and screamed “well let the b*tch ass n*gga take it!”

Chad responded “I can’t take them right now”, and the grandmother turned to Chad’s son and asked “will you please serve your father with those papers?” Before the video ends, Chad II tells his grandmother “you’re ruining my graduation!”

The exchange was all caught on tape. Watch below:

The ex-NFL star spoke with TMZ Sports afterwards and explained the monthly payment of $6,000 per child was established back when he was signed to the pro leagues. Chad was signed to the Miami Dolphins and released 2 months later after being arrested for domestic violence with his then-wife Evelyn Lozada in August 2012. He then joined the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 2014 and only played in 5 games before being cut.

“I haven’t had an NFL paycheck since 2011,” Chad told TMZ Sports.

In addition to the $6,000 per month in child support for Chad II, Chad also pays another $1,000 per month for his son’s college fund. According to TMZ, the mother says Chad hasn’t paid in full since Dec. 2015 and he now owes nearly $40k.

Via TMZ Sports:

Chad tells us he kept up with the payments for years after his NFL career was over — but his financial situation has changed (he has more kids and no income) and he can’t keep up.

“I have a nugget, but I have to make the cash last with all 6 kids for the next 18 years. We have to scale back.”

Chad says he wants to work out a compromise with his ex out of court — but if they can’t, they have a date with a judge set for August 2nd.
