A “friend” of Amy posted a video to Snapchat of Amy talking to Trinity the day before the fight. According to the “friend”, Amy was trying to deescalate the tension and avoid fighting. The Snapchat video of their conversation was captioned “bouta fight her” with crying laughing emojis. Zion and Chakeira can reportedly be heard saying “She’s scared. She’s scared. We gonna get her.” Trinity reportedly posted online she planned to wear sneakers the next day for the fight; Amy wore sandals.
The 30 second video shows Trinity dragging Amy by her braids into a handicap stall. Trinity punched Amy in the head at least 24 times and kicked her 6-8 times in the head, while Amy clutched her purse trying to get away, says police. Seconds before the fight ended, Amy grabbed onto Trinity as Trinity pushed her away and exited the bathroom with Zion and Chakeira.
A math teacher responded to the commotion in the girls’ bathroom and saw Trinity, Zion, and Chakeira laughing as they exited the bathroom. The teacher found Joyner-Francis sitting on the floor, trying to prop herself up with her hands before saying “they jumped me, they snuck me”. Those were Amy’s last words.
