“He went to college, he had a job”, says Eric, trying to separate his brother Stephen Paddock from the image of a monster he’s being painted as after killing over 50 people Sunday night. Eric later admits Stephen had “no active employment”:

Eric Paddock says there’s nothing that would have lead him to believe to his brother would commit such an egregious act, adding the last time they communicated, Stephen was concerned if their mother had power in her Florida home after Hurricane Irma:
