[UPDATED] Aspiring Singer SUPPORTS Chrisette Michelle Singing at Donald Trump’s Inauguration, Then BACKS DOWN

#PostAndDelete

Aspiring singer Shamica B. Fresh posted and deleted a message supporting R& B Diva Chrisette Michele’s decision to sing at Donald Trump’s inauguration; to sing for a bankrupt businessman-turned reality star-turned politician who publicly degraded women and spread hate propaganda against Black people, even posting fake statistics of the Black murder rate to undermine the Black Lives Matter movement.

Donald Trump has met with Black celebs and Black preachers (Whites believe these are the leaders of the Black community) to repair his image with Black Americans. Legendary singer Jennifer Holliday was scheduled to perform, but after receiving backlash from the Black community, she backed out. Jennifer Holliday, who’s most known for starring in the original Dreamgirls Broadway play in 1982, told The View cohosts she felt “bullied” out of performing by her Black fans. Watch below:

Chrisette Michele, you’re being played. Trump could’ve easily gotten a famous country music star with a fan base full Trump supporters to headline his inauguration. However, for image sake, he needs a Black singer. Your performance will get you a whole new legion of White fans, who pre-inauguration had never heard of you, but your days of you being “respected” in Black music will be over. The Roots drummer Questlove even tweeted he’d pay Chrisette to back out of Trump’s inauguration ball:

Those scheduled to speak and perform at Trump’s inauguration include Christian pastors, rock groups, classical music singers and country music stars. Trump had yet to land a popular Black singer who didn’t later back down until Chrisette stepped up.

And trust, if Trump could’ve pulled a Beyoncé like President Obama did for his inauguration, he wouldn’t need a Chrisette Michele.

UPDATE:

Chrisette has since responded to the backlash she’s received, saying she’s performing at the inauguration to represent our voices. Sure, Chrisette.

“My heart is broken for our country, for the hopes of our children, for the fights of those who came before us.

I cry at the thought that Black History, American History might be in vain.

This country has had great moments. God has shined His light upon us.

Today, I hope that Great Moments begin in peaceful & progressive conversation. I am willing to be a bridge. I don’t mind ‘These Stones’, if they allow me to be a voice for the voiceless.

I am here.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, ‘Our lives begin to end, the day we become silent about what matters,’. I am here, representing you, because this is what matters.’ – Chrisette Michele
