I knew all along Bernie Sanders’ campaign was intentionally largely ignored by the media over Hillary Clinton’s, whose presidency campaign received way more publicity. What I didn’t know was that the Democratic National Committee was behind it.
After 5 years on the committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, is resigning this week after over 19,000 internal email exchanges among Democratic officials were leaked, exposing the party siding with Hillary and purposely ruining Bernie Sanders’ campaign.
Though all 19,000+ emails have been released, they haven’t all been read. Reading every email takes time, so new information will come out as we continue to read them all. This is what has been discovered so far:
While the DNC is supposed to be publicly neutral amongst democratic presidential candidates, they privately favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders.
They took every step to ensure Hillary would win the Democratic primary so they could publicly endorse her as the party’s official candidate. These are the steps taken by the Democratic party to ensure Hillary’s win over Sanders, as revealed in their emails:
1. Wasserman Schultz Said Bernie Would Never Be President:
Scores of emails were sent to the DNC staff from Wasserman Schultz’s private email. One such correspondence referenced a Sanders appearance on CNN in which he said that if he were elected, Wasserman Schultz would be out. She simply retorted, “This is a silly story. He isn’t going to be president.”
2. Poll Locations Were Reduced In States That Favored Bernie Sanders Over Hillary:
Gina Raimondo, the state governor of Rhode Island and Clinton supporter, planned to reduce the number of poll locations in the state when it was revealed that Bernie was leading in her state’s polls:
“If she outperforms this polling, the Bernie camp will go nuts and allege misconduct,” one staffer wrote.
Another responded, “They’ll probably complain regardless, actually. We might want to get out in front of this one with an inquiry to the RI Gov., even though she’s one of ours.”
3. Suggested Leaking Story of Bernie Being An “Atheist” To Win More Votes For Hillary in Conservative States:
On May 5th, DNC chief financial officer Brad Marshall suggested having Bernie Sanders bombarded with religious questions during a public speaking event so Bernie could be labelled as an atheist and lose votes in the religious states of Kentucky and West Virginia to Hillary Clinton. He planned to have his “Southern Baptist” friends ask Bernie Sanders, who is Jewish, about his belief in Jesus:
The email from Brad Marshall read:
“It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist […]It’s these Jesus thing.”
In response, CEO Amy Dacey said: “Amen.”
Though Bernie is Jewish, he previously stated he was more spiritual than religious in an interview with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel:
“I am who I am,” Sanders said. “And what I believe in and what my spirituality is about, is that we’re all in this together. That I think it is not a good thing to believe that as human beings we can turn our backs on the suffering of other people.”
