While you were tucked away in bed last night, Nicki Minaj was raising hell on Twitter. The 33 year old raptress was hit with another lawsuit from her ex Safaree Samuels, citing emotional and physical abuse from the hands of Ms. Onika. Nicki Minaj says it’s just anothet ploy to extort more money out of her.
Their 12 year relationship ended two years ago after Safaree claimed Nicki treated him more like an assistant than a boyfriend and Nicki insisted his infidelities ended the relationship. Back in November 2015, Nicki received word that Safaree planned to sue the star for royalties from her albums Pink Friday, Pink Friday: Reloaded, and The Pink Print. He also wanted a cut from the tracks “Feeling Myself” and “Flawless (Remix), both featuring Beyonce, and “Only”, featuring Lil Wayne and Drake.
Safaree reportedly had proof he assisted in the creation of those tracks in the form of voice memos and hours of video footage of Safaree and Nicki in the studio. Safaree also blasted the star in a diss song against her and her boyfriend, rapper Meek Mill, saying she didn’t keep her word of promising to keep taking care of Safaree financially, even after they broke up.
Now, according to Nicki, she was hit with a lawsuit by Safaree, calling her an abuser. She lashed out on Twitter, saying Safaree is jealous of her relationship with Meek Mill and is especially jealous that she spoils Meek with the lavish gifts she used to give Safaree. Nicki says karma is already coming back to haunt Safaree. His rap career is still “aspiring” 2 years post-Nicki and his love life hasn’t been any better. He broke up with Instagram model Zashia Santiago after finding out she cheated on him by sleeping with her ex boyfriend. Pictures of Zashia’s naked body from the night she slept with him were also posted online for the world to see.
Safaree was also rumored to have a short-lived relationship with another Instagram model, Ana Montana, while trying to date singer K. Michelle, only to get turned down. He’s since started dating Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star Nikki Mudarris, hence Nicki tweeting he’s using her for a reality show story line.
Safaree’s rep released a statement saying he will not be participating in any more social media shenanigans:
“Initially things were being handled privately behind the scenes but it was taken to social media and unfortunately its now being played out in the public eye which could easily be interpreted as a cry for attention. Safaree will not continue in any more social media feuds and at this time we are unable to comment or provide any details pertaining to the current legal proceedings that are taking place with Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj. We are confident that things will be both favorable and amicable for all parties.”
